Edificio Cúbica.

This small building of single-room spaces dedicated to a first dwelling or work place, is located in the neighborhood of Palermo, within an area where two dynamically commercial focal points coincide. It consists of 14 habitable spaces articulated by a corridor in between patios.

An elevator and a staircase generate two elements in their search for a plastic presence, adding materiality to the main space of inner movement.

The dwellings have intermediate spaces that are obtained through a mechanism that filters the planes of the façade, with the sliding shutters distributed on the exterior keeping privacy and luminous control, but at the same time achieving open spaces that relate the outside with the inside. Volumes are defined by the treatment of the exterior covering, ruled by ribs made of recycled material (composed by synthetic resin and recovered residues of natural wood), that solve the filter of the vertical sliding blades. The interior construction materializes through horizontal exposed concrete planes, the vertical planes through tile-covered masonry, and the fronts open through the use of aluminum and glass.
